This is Bertie, a street dog of Thailand. He entered our lives after someone threw a cauldron of boiling water over him. As you can see from the pictures, poor Bertie suffered painful third degree burns over half his body. This is reality. This is what happens to many street dogs in Thailand. Bertie was lucky. We were able to take him in, treat his horrific burns, and keep him safe. This sweet boy certainly has had a long road to recovery, but he has almost made it!

Look at his transformation. The wounds on his back have healed and as each day passes his spirit is rekindled. This sweet boy is energetic and playful. He would love nothing more than to join an active family who will love and protect him for the rest of his days. He enjoys going for walks, and exploring new places. His confident yet sweet personality makes him the perfect match for anyone looking for a loyal companion. Bertie will happily shower you with kisses, learn new tricks, or cuddle up next to you at the end of the day. You could not ask for a better lifelong friend.

While his scars may serve as a constant reminder of his horrible past, Bertie refuses to dwell on it. He is ready to open his heart to a new and exciting life. Can you be the one to give him the second chance he deserves?
