The dog was rescued last night.  Now, needs funds for medical treatment.

From Sam:

Dear all kind-hearted people,

I went to Look Out Point,Cheras last night and I saw this poor doggie lying on the grass. I sighed in relief knowing that the dog is still alive but  the sight huge maggot wound on the back of his neck is gross and disturbing.

After my meal, i tried to feed him with some food and glad that he is actually eating. Guess he must be starving. With the assistance of Andy, we sent him to the 24hr vet - Animal Medical Centre in Jalan Tun Razak. We shall rename him as Sammy at the moment as I cant think of any name now.

The Vet, Dr Kumar mentioned that he is probably an old dog though we couldn't tell the age. He is only skin and bone and weighs slightly more than 6kg. The maggot wounds prolly been days and it is as huge as my hand on the back of his neck. There are thousands of maggots and anaesthetic are required in order to remove the maggots and clean up the wound. Dr tested him with distemper test and luckily it showed negative. Tomorrow he will conduct a blood test to check his liver and heart because his medical condition is unknown and Dr couldnt use anaesthetic if Sammy has liver / heart disease. He is also severely dehydrated and need to be on IV drip. Dr also notice that he is limping slightly and one of the front leg is swollen.

Dr Kumar mentioned that we have to hospitalise him for quite some time  and at this point of time, hospitalising him a day with medical treatment and IV drip cost at least RM130++ a day.

So I would like to appeal for funds to help Sammy. The vet may suggest to put him to sleep because of his unknown medical conditions and he is probably too weak to survive. And the medical bill to cure only his maggot wound gonna be really expensive as well.  Please please please give Sammy a chance. We hope each of you would be able to contribute to give this poor doggie a chance. Please help us to help the dog. Please spread the words around so that we can source for more funds for his medical treatment.

Please contact me if you would like to know more about this doggie. Thanks...

Warm Regards,
Sam

P/s: The pics are really gross in real life and we saw those maggots dropping out from his wound.
