MOTHER & 5 PUPPIES WAITING ON ROADSIDE

We were just asked to help this mother dog and her four puppies who were dumped along a busy road in Zenica, Bosnia. The four puppies are out of the cardboard box in which they were deposited. A good Samaritan notified rescuer Esnaf Mehic who is always happy to help any animal in need, but has no financial resources to do so independently.

“They are near road,” Esnaf explained moments ago with concerns for the dogs safety. “Dog catchers are passing every day. If they go to the dog pound, they will die.”

There is, of course, the risk that the dogs will be hit by cars. We have agreed to sponsor the rescue.

COST OF THIS RESCUE MISSION:

* $279 a month (250 Euros) to board the entire family of all 5 dogs together

* Veterinary costs will depend on the health of the dogs, but we don’t expect a large expense besides worming, spay/neuter and vaccines. If we could raise the first $125 towards this, we would be so grateful

Thank you everyone. We will update you when we hear more. A volunteer is going to try to rescue the dogs now, but if there is any difficulty finding them, will try again tomorrow. We are hopeful, but in the very unlikely event that the dogs are not found, we will direct donations toward the very next occurance of this exact type of street dog rescue in Bosnia, which we participate in regularly.
