At only a few weeks old, Berkeley has endured more trauma than any dog should in their lifetime. A couple days ago we received a call reporting callous people in the area hitting, kicking and even putting cigarettes out on a small puppy’s body. Without any hesitation, our dog catching team raced to rescue him from this nightmare.

Upon Berkeley’s arrival he was checked over by the vets. To their disbelief, he luckily had no severe injuries. Despite some hair loss and minor skin problems, Berkeley will soon make a full recovery. His puppy-like personality was not fazed by the abuse. He loves nothing more than playing with people and cuddling into their arms. He is proof of the resilience dogs have and he never ceases to surprise us with his unconditional love. For a puppy who had a terrible start in life, he does not let it show.

Can you welcome a bright young puppy like Berkeley into your life? He deserves a family who will treat him right and keep him safe. We cannot understand why someone would want to hurt him the way they did, but you can be the one to show him what love really is.
