This ought to be a very long and detailed update, but I’ve had a very long day and my eyes could barely open, so I’ll make it short and concise without missing out on all the important points.
My friend took Courage for an X-Ray this afternoon. Courage’s spinal chord IS broken. It is the L6 vertebrae – it is broken into half and there are pieces as well. However, her lungs look “okay”, there were no major damage except for some abnormality at the ends of the lobes. The vets also think there is possible puncture due to the numerous “bubbles” under her skin, but as remarkable as the body is, it is possible for small ruptures to self-heal.
There is some indication that the bronchials have scarring as they appeared whitish on the X-Rays. This is an abnormality, or it could be the infection that is causing the nasal discharge.
The good news is that Courage is much calmer today and even fell asleep on the X-Ray table! My friend says she is so, so clever, she can already understand simply commands. She also fell asleep while waiting for her turn for acupuncture.
At Dr Susanna’s, Courage had her first acupuncture treatment today. There were many blockages in her, but this had been cleared through regular treatments so that the qi can flow again. Dr Susanna was quite upbeat over Courage’s condition and sees hope. Hooray!
Courage has been given homeopathic medicine to address pain, injury and trauma. She was also prescribed Chinese herbal medicine for bladder and bowel movement and inflammation for the lower back (specifically to address her needs) and also “rescue remedy” which is essence of flowers to reduce stress.
My friend also managed to get some stem cells so she will be starting Courage on one capsule tonight. I’m still waiting for my order to arrive at the vet’s.
Meanwhile, due to the steroids, Courage consumes a lot of water every day and this causes her to urinate very frequently. Courage, despite wearing diapers, has to be cleaned every three hours. She even leaks through her diapers. This is a lot of work.
For now, Courage cannot seem to control her urination and defecation. She is also very constipated and my friend has to manually remove her faeces. Tonight, Courage will be given laxatives as my friend feels there is a need to clear her bowels properly.
That’s the updates for now. I will be visiting Courage tomorrow and will update further.
Please pray for Courage. And for little miracles to happen.
