I received this from Linda Suhaili last week. We got to know each other through email when I highlighted Phaik Imm’s plight early this year. Linda and her husband (who live in Ipoh) were one of the very first to volunteer their help by going in to help Imm clear the bushes, clean up the shelter and help with the animals.
Later on, Linda also rescued a dog named Bobby whom she sent for treatment. Bobby has been rehomed since.
Here’s Linda’s email:
Hi Dr Chan,
I do hope you might still remember me. I had asked for your help in finding adopters for a dog which I named Bobby previously and he was successfully rehomed with the help of Carol, Judy Chuah’s friend.
Anyway, on Wednesday last week, again, on my way to work, my husband & I came across a beautiful but badly injured dog. She had a wound on her hind leg and was also bleeding from her tummy. We took her to the vet immediately and it was only then that we saw the huge gaping wound on her belly. The vet suspected mammary gland cancer. However, after a few days, the vet said that the wound was healing up nicely and it might not be cancer after all.
She has been discharged yesterday, 15th November, and we will foster her temporarily until she gets better as boarding her at the vet will cost much more. This is where I ask if you could help me out financially as the bill amounted to RM400.00. Any amount you’re willing to subsidize will truly be appreciated as I would still have to pay for her spaying later on. Feel free to call the clinic for confirmation (my account number with them is stated on the bill).
Anyhow, I have attached some pics of her. I just call her Sweetie. Would appreciate your help posting for adopters as I can’t adopt her permanently for the same reasons I could not keep Bobby. Will keep you updated on her status.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Linda Suhaili
We have subsidised RM200 to help with the cost of treatment for Sweetie. Linda could not keep Bobby and now, Sweetie, because of objections from the neighbourhood where she lives in. So, please help publicise Sweetie for adoption, especially to your Ipoh friends.
Kudos to Linda Suhaili for all that she does for the street animals.
