Appeal For Information. The Spca Has Seen Three Ca..
The SPCA has seen three cases involving rubber bands tied to cats’ tails since early March 2019.
Between 5 to 17 March, a total of three cats have been found with different coloured rubber bands tied tightly to their tails. This cruel act can cause serious and permanent damage to the animal as it restricts blood flow to and from the area being bound. The three cats are currently under the care of our veterinary team. One of the cats will need to undergo surgery to have its tail amputated, as a result of this act.
At this time, we are unsure if the cases are linked. However, we are exploring all possibilities during our investigation.
We are requesting for witnesses to step forward to assist with the investigation. The SPCA is offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person/s responsible for these acts. Anyone with information in relation to these incidents can call our 24-hour hotline at 6287 5355 (ext. 9), or e-mail inspector@spca.org.sg. Information provided will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
