VERY long day as was yesterday when cages could not get through to us.
Today was hugely successful. The bridge and dog island is now empty!
All dogs removed and on way to WFFT shelter at Cha Am on large trucks paid for by your donations. Floods very deep here so getting there and back has made for extremely long days. Many thanks to all the Thai volunteers who helped with this. And the Thai army for deploying 10 troops to help and getting us back to Bangkok.
Was dark when we left the bridge for the last time and was very eerie seeing it empty. We estimate approaching 200 dogs have been removed from the bridge and the tiny islands close by. All had to be ferried to road about 20 minutes away by small boat.
Many dogs had to be caught with nets etc..
To help with the much needed medical treatment (Several of the dogs are in private clinics in Bangkok including Twigg. Others will need treatment at WFFT shelter, please donate to http://www.soidog.org/
Full report and photos, video will follow in coming days. 20 hour days taking their toll!
