Pangolin Awareness

Time is running out for pangolins. This spiny anteater is under threat from poaching, despite a total international trade ban.

Last weekend, Sabah police seized a record 30 tonnes of pangolin and pangolin products worth RM8.16 million from a processing facility.

It’s estimated that more than a million pangolins have been killed for their scales and meat in the last decade.

Populations of Asian pangolins have declined by 80% in the last decade, and traffickers are increasingly turning to African pangolins.
