Who’s heard of this cute creature before? This anteater-like animal is a pangolin. They’re the world’s only truly scaly mammal.

But pangolins are also the most heavily trafficked wild mammal in the world, despite the fact that most people have never heard of them.

All eight species of pangolin are protected under national and international laws.
