Our Freshwater team in Sarawak works in the Rajang River basin or watershed as it provides important ecosystem services from upstream to downstream. WWF-Malaysia recommends the conservation of free flowing rivers, fish habitats and Rajang delta.

The team is working closely with different stakeholders to form and adopt an integrated river basin planning in Rajang.

We promote the implementation of Integrated Watershed Management (IWM), sustainable water use and conservation of important freshwater habitats.

IWM is a process that promotes the coordinated development and management of water, land and related resources without compromising the sustainability of vital ecosystems.
