Come visit #Connect2Earth, a collaborative project between INTI Center of Art & Design and WWF-Malaysia’s Tiger Conservation Efforts. The attractive display of origami tigers made of recycled paper will spark conversations about conservation and share why tigers matter, to build support for protecting this iconic species. WWF-Malaysia sincerely thanks INTI for creating the beautiful exhibition artworks and Damen Mall for sponsoring the space.
Date: 22 December 2018 to 2 January 2019
Venue: Damen Mall USJ, Level 3
The Malayan tiger is one of our country’s greatest national treasures. By conserving tigers in their natural habitats, we are saving ourselves as well. As an apex predator, tigers ensure that the forest ecosystem is in balance. Our forests give us freshwater and soil stability, while serving as vital carbon sinks which help to regulate the climate. Forests also support local livelihood and play a significant role in ecotourism.
Sadly, there are as few as 250 Malayan tigers left in the wild today. Poaching is the most critical threat to the survival of our tigers. WWF-Malaysia’s wildlife warriors work tirelessly on tiger conservation efforts through three key areas of protection and anti-poaching efforts, wildlife monitoring and community engagement.
