December – A Breath Of Fresh Air!!

December 2018 is really a breath of fresh air for me, in particular, as far as running AnimalCare is concerned.
First of all, I must thank the few friends who stepped up to help me out when I realised that AnimalCare policies needed to be tightened up and fine-tuned. We have been working around the clock (yes, literally!) since the end of October to do this.
The maximum claim of RM200 per week per applicant was enforced on 1st December. Along with it, we have also implemented the maximum total claim allowable for serial or long-time claimants (a “ceiling”). Once this ceiling is reached, the applicant will be informed and given a month’s notice where s/he is allowed to claim a total of two more times. These would be our “graduates”!
It has not exactly been easy dealing with the task of “graduating” applicants. But why talk about the negative, let’s focus on the positive where some of the “graduates” have been very kind and understanding. One even said she will not donate regularly back to our Fund to help others. Thank you so much for this!
So far, as it stands today, 16 applicants have been given the one month’s notice where they can claim another two times after which we shall not be able to help them anymore. We wish them all the best in their rescue and caregiving work and hope they will carry on the CNRM-spirit.
As always, we cannot over-emphasize the importance of CNRM with C = Care as the most important component. Our priority goes towards helping applicants who share our values and life-affirming principles as our vision is to grow a community that not only rescues and neuters street animals, but is committed to their long-term care and wellbeing.
That said, we are happy to announce that from now on, we will also work on special CNRM projects that adhere to our principles and vision. This may also involve neutering (N = Neuter), food as well as medical treatment (M = Manage). These projects will most likely be on a short-term basis as life is short and impermanent!
More about these special projects as and when they arise.
Going with the flow and breathing some fresh air….!!
