A Blanket For A Bride (no. 208)

208 – What a lucky number, in the Chinese culture!

This blanket was ordered by our very dear anonymous donor, as a bridal gift for her vet.

Our friend bought the five types of fabric herself and she says they are colours from the cultural background of her vet.

The dark purple “grape” design also has unending links, both symbolises fertility and an “unending” relationship.

The turquoise backing is because turquoise is her vet’s favourite colour.

Truly, the fabrics were chosen with lots of love and care.

Then, it was my turn to create a design for the blanket. Our friend requested the purple grapes to be the main theme.

I decided to make the pinwheel stars design.

The fabric is of very high quality cotton, so top-sewing was not necessary.

I “framed” the blanket with the purple grape theme and my mum sewed the turquoise backing.

We thank our dear donor very much indeed for her generous donation of RM480 to our fund for this blanket and we wish Dr N all the best wishes for a very happy “unending” lifetime of joy, laughter and love as she embarks on this wonderful journey with her beloved!
