Vincent – Still Not Eating

This morning’s breakfast.

This is the antacid, it’s a better one than the previous. I have to break open the capsule and divide the granules into 6 parts.

Because he has not been eating, Vincent is so emaciated now. He is losing weight daily and he looks so sunken.

It breaks my heart to see him this way.

Force-feeding stresses him so much, so I just offered the food this morning.

He did lick one slice of liver, that’s all. He did not eat anything.

All were not right.

After work, I came home quickly to do subcut for Vincent. I guess hydration is all I can do now, without any struggle or resistance from Vincent.

Then, I went out to get fluids and buy some fresh liver for Vincent.

I was so pleased to see him having come downstairs when I got home. I quickly offered some fresh liver.

He just licked some slices…didn’t eat anything at all.

When he starting licking the liver, I was so hopeful, but all he did was to lick a bit. There was no gravy too.

I even bought a packet of wet Renal food from the vet’s, in case he might want a change of taste. But no, he didn’t want any of it at all.

I’ve tried various foods today, all kinds of flavours. No.

He went back to his favourite soil patch.

This evening, I had to force-feed a little. The vet is very worried as he cannot stay off food for so long.

Force-feeding him is a battle. Vincent hates to have his mouth handled. He hates the syringe, so I finally resorted to just rubbing a bit of paste (Recovery) on his lips.

I only managed to give, at most, perhaps one teaspoon of Recovery – for the whole day.

I also bought two tablets of Fortekor today. I figured since he hates the syringe so much, Semintra is out. I’m going back to Fortekor.

Surprisingly, he doesn’t mind Fortekor and even the Metrogyl (both of which are tablets), but he hates any form of liquid.
