Healthy coastal ecosystems (e.g. mangroves, coral reefs) serve as natural coastal protection and will reduce risks from the impacts of climate change. Hence, it is important to know the importance of coral reefs and its impact on climate change.
21 Miss Scuba International participants did their part in educating themselves and participating in WWF-Malaysia Semporna Marine team’s 2-day Conservation Training workshop In Sipadan Mabul Resort (SMART) on the 11th and 12th of November. Activities included conservation talks and underwater fish ID training.
Womens’ Association of Pulau Omadal (WAPO) was part of the workshop to motivate and inspire the participants on the importance of women empowerment in conservation.
The crowning of Miss Scuba International will happen during the finals held in Sutera Harbour Resort in Kota Kinabalu on the 17th of November 2018.
