No “agents”, Please!

This is a gentle reminder to all applicants that we cannot accept third party requests. This has always been in our policies.

There are also those who act as proxies to other rescuers, taking on the role of an “agent”, offering to help these (normally non-literate) rescuers claim. This practice is not encouraged.

There is no need for the services of such “agents” as we have many non-literate applicants who have learnt how to use whatsapp voicemail to communicate with me and they also do the photo collage all by themselves.

All you need is a smartphone which most people own these days, and of course, the willingness to learn some functions of the phone.

I allow the use of whatsapp for the convenience of these non-literate applicants, so there is no need for these “agents”.

Recently, we received an email from one such “agent” who wanted to help an elderly person claim from us. The name of the elderly was provided. We did a check and found out that this elderly person is already being helped by another organisation.

So yes, we do cross check. We owe it to our donors to be very stringent and careful when giving out our aid.

So, no “agents”, please.
