Vincent Sniffs Out “new Food”!

Sorry for not being able to write updates as often as before. A few reasons, actually.
Firstly, Vincent’s condition seems to be “stable” now, so there isn’t anything new to report. Secondly, I’m busy sewing blankets as I’m hoping to restart the auctions, if anyone is interested? If not, maybe just sell the blankets then. We need the funds!
Thirdly, and most excitedly, yesterday, I was busy guiding a friend to nurse a newborn kitten, seemingly abandoned by the mum-cat (long story there). My friend has absolutely no experience before and is even afraid of cats, but she and her daughter are managing now. It’s so exciting!
Now, back to Vincent.
Yesterday was a good day. Subcut went well. I did up to 180ml as I didn’t want to reduce the amount too fast. Vincent is eating well. No vomiting (thank goodness).
Vincent sort of “knew” I had bought a new batch of Cindy’s Tuna and Chicken. I don’t know how he knew (can cats smell through the can??). He kept nudging at the box, so I “knew” too.
THAT’S what he wanted to eat!! Oh wow!
This morning, he ate raw, homecooked and canned, then he went back upstairs. Later, Ginger came back for his kibble dim sum (this is Ginger’s habit) and Vincent came downstairs too. He wanted kibble?? Vincent doesn’t like kibble at all.
But I guess he wanted to socialise with everyone (when Ginger had his dim sum kibble, Tabs and Heidi would sometimes want some too). So I offered a bit of Vincent and guess what, he ate kibble as well! This would be the first time since months.
I think it was just “socialisation” food for him! I sneaked in some renal kibble and he ate that too. Hopefully, no vomiting after this. It is good that Vincent is able to eat all kinds of food. That’s going back to “normal”, as far as eating is concerned.
I also managed to peek into Vincent’s mouth the few times he yawned. It definitely looks like the ulcers on the front-half of his tongue has healed!! And we are only giving Orozyme, an off-the-shelf dental formula. It contains enzymes and is not regarded as a “drug”.
However, yesterday, Jia-Wen said someone sprayed all over his room. It was on his tv, his curtains and his pile of clothes. Vincent had been going into his room a lot lately. And he did see Vincent mooching around all night at all the pee spots.
Hmm…Vincent is marking? Of course the marking isn’t welcomed, but it may mean he is gaining more confidence, which is a good thing.
Vincent’s next check-up is on Wednesday or Thursday this week.
