FROM JOHN IN BANGKOK. Its 10 ;30 pm here and just got back to room for 30 minutes after working with one of our rescue teams before heading to airport to pick up 2 volunteer vets from Worldwide vets in States. They will have been traveling for more than 24 hours and after a few hours sleep will be heading down to the WFFT center. I cannot speak highly enough of our Thai volunteers. They are out first thing in the morning and continue to work well after dark before returning to soi 71, with the dogs rescued that day before they are transferred to WFFT by Edwin's staff from WFFT a minimum 3 hour drive. To say is handwork is an understatement. I have come back with a dog bite and my feet are on fire from being permanently wet. They do this every day with 2 or 3 teams each. Tonight just as we were pushing our boat back to the truck owing to engine failure accompanied by the biggest swarm of mosquitos I have ever seen. Cindy somehow spotted a dog in the water that was literally about to go under You could here the gurgling of water in its nose and throat. Rescuers threw themselves into the water and managed to scoop it up. They are doing this every day. We have also been overwhelmed by the number of Thai people calling us and offering to volunteer at Soi 71, bringing sacks of food, loaning cars. The support here is incredible. Thank you to everybody.
