No More Soil, Vincent

I woke up at 5am this morning and found Vincent just coming out of our bathroom. He knows how to use the bathroom.

A little sad, though, because if he had just used the bathroom, there was absolutely no smell at all.

This is the time we WISHED our cats’ urine smell. The smellier, the better (it shows the kidneys are doing their work of concentrating the urine).

So, our alpha amigos who stink up the pantry every day – ok, a small blessing. They can still stink up the pantry.  That would be Cow, Bunny and Indy.

Meanwhile, guess what, my simple Project Spider-Cat 2 is working…so far. Indy hasn’t been able to come in. He did protest a bit, but I told him, “I already warned you, Indy.”

The netting and the cable ties (purposely left uncut to create some “prickly thorns” – Cathy’s brilliance) look rather unsightly, but hey, as long as it works, right?

Last night, there was a wee bit of vomit from Vincent, and this was after he had his dinner of liver, Cubgrub and Cindy’s canned. The vomit was quite little and it may have been hairball though it didn’t look like it.

At least his food didn’t come except for a few shreds of chicken (from Cindy’s). Anyway, I gave him the 2ml of Lactulose last night. He seemed to like it!

Vincent came downstairs with me and made a beeline for the patio while I went into the kitchen to prepare their breakfast.

Then, I decided to watch him….

A word first about how adorable Ginger is. Previously, Ginger was known to like spraying on our cushions at night, so since then, we have trained him to sleep in the patio at night (with the patio door closed). But then, Ginger got attacked by Mr Zurik and had those wounds, so we let him come inside the house during the time when he was “sick”.

But now that he has recovered, he went back out to the patio to sleep at night. Oh wow, how adorable is that, right?

So, I sneaked up on Vincent to see what he would do. Nothing harmful, though. He went to pee on the pebbles at his exact favourite pee spot. Am glad the pebbles did not deter him from still using the spot. Then, he sniffed and mooched around a bit.

Hah….no soil for you to eat now, yes?

Nope, no soil.

Waiting for breakfast.

I took a risk today and laced his Cubgrub Chicken with probiotics. Oh my goodness, he wouldn’t eat it. So, very quickly, I switched it to another bowl of Cubgrub Rabbit (unlaced) and he ate it. Phew!!

Look…”plane view” – no more indentation at the lower back. He is filling up, eh?

I didn’t weigh him today.

Meanwhile, Ginger has been mewing to ask to go out to the porch. But we cannot risk having Mr Zurik beat him up again, so we have to compromise and let him come into Bunny’s Room. Or, should we rename the room “Cleo’s” instead?

Even before all these policy changes and residency privileges, we often joked that Cleo is the si-thau-por (lady property owner). She owns the bench and the “apartments” and rents it out to the other cats.

Mine!! All Mine!!

Ok, boss-lady, ok.

At 6.45am, Vincent came down for his proper breakfast. I figured 5am is far too early for him.

Ginger is hoping for leftovers.

I gave Vincent Cindy’s and Monge – he guzzled it all up.

Time to be a jedi-warrior, Vincent. Meds!

Now, he is getting naughty and he fights.

But hah! I’m also getting better at pilling!
