Vincent’s Subcut

It was time for Vincent’s subcut.
Everyone else had lunch but Vincent didn’t want any. He walked away from raw food before I could offer anything else, so I didn’t want to force it.
I remember this theory from his first vet (which has proven true) that once there is vomiting, the cat associates being sick with the smell of that particular food, so it may be necessary to change the food for awhile until that association is no longer strong in the cat’s memory. This has worked for a few of our cats, especially with Ginger.
Maybe I will try another flavour of Cindy’s canned food later if he shows an interest in food. The vet said that if tomorrow Vincent still doesn’t eat, I should bring Vincent in already. Will certainly do that.
I sent his photo to Vincent’s vet and she remarked, ‘Such a good cat”.
Yes, he is. I do believe that Vincent is fighting very hard to get well. I read that our pets will fight to get well for our sake. They will do that for us. That is why we have to tell them that it is okay to let go when it’s time to go. I did that for Rosie during her final hours. She held on and didn’t want to let go.
We did the 200ml subcut with no issue. No struggle at all.
Then, unlike other days when Vincent would be dying to jump off the table and get out of the room, he decided to just stay on.
So, we both stayed on. Just the two of us. We sat in silence.
It was peaceful.
