“I’m a “Captain Planet” fan. I wanted to be one of the Planeeters because they have special powers to save the environment. 💪

I joined #JourneyofWater in April 2018 because it was a great opportunity to better understand how critical water is for life, and how limited fresh water really is.

The biggest lesson I learned from the journey is that water does not come from the tap! It was an eye-opener experience as the Water Heroes were exposed to the full circle of our water supply: from the fresh water at Sungai Chilling (upstream) to how water was being stored by the Selangor Dam (midstream) and then finally the treatment of wastewater (downstream) by Indah Water Konsortium. I never knew that so many steps and different organisations are involved just for us to have clean water.

Journey of Water has changed the way I used water in my daily life. I now make sure that I wash my vegetables in a water-filled basin rather than under running water, and I collect rainwater to water the plants at home. I even wash my car only once a month.

Besides that, I also remind everyone to pay their sewage bills on time, especially since our sewage fees are one of the cheapest in the world.

To me, you don’t need any special powers to be a #WaterHero. Just apply these three steps for a better future: Use water wisely, keep our rivers clean (and educate those litterbugs), and pay your water-related bills on time!”
