Found Vincent at the pandan early this morning.
Looks like Vincent likes “steps”.
We had to do the pilling early today because husband had to go to work early.
Ginger first – as usual, no problems at all. Then, I decided to just try using the Biosilver spray directly instead of spraying into a bowl and syringing it up to use.
Sprayed onto both sides of his mouth (just lift the lips and spray). Oh goody…Ginger didn’t even flinch!
Great, great!
Next was Vincent’s turn for pilling. We have finally finished all the Baytril and for the morning session, it is now only one tablet of Clavomox and one (dreadful) Azodyl. Vincent still has to be wrapped with the towel and we have to use double layer by folding the towel into two because Vincent has perfected the taiji art of “soong si juo kua” (loosen pelvis and drop) to get out of the towel. He just goes so soft that you cannot hold him up anymore. Perfect taiji technique (if only I could achieve that!).
The Clavomox was okay but the Azodyl is a bit of a nightmare, we had to do it twice because he spat it out. I do wonder now, after reflecting upon what Dr Pierson and Dr Becker opined – is it because Vincent knows he doesn’t need it…or what? Oh well, never mind. Theoretically, Azodyl is so important for him. It works to breakdown the excess urea.
By the way, Epakitine is the phosphorus binder but it is no longer available in Malaysia now.
We also gave him Vetri DMG to wash down the two pills. Then, I took a HUGE risk and used the Biosilver spray directly onto his gums (just like I did for Ginger). I had expected a fight, but wow……NO FIGHT! No resistance at all! Wow!!
By the time it came to Pole’s turn, I was confident she might accept the spray directly too. So, after the tiny Baytril, I sprayed.
Oh my goodness!! Pole leapt off the table and looked at us accusingly, like “What are you doing to me?? Are you trying to kill me?????”
Oh well, there goes a whole week’s of built-up trust.
We are back to square one.
And we will try again.

I kind of knew Vincent wasn’t ready to eat yet this morning but since he lingered in the kitchen (it’s only for the “socialisation” and not asking for food, I was sure), I just opened his container and lay it next to him.
Nope, he didn’t want any of it. As expected.
It’s okay, Vincent. We have a whole day to go. Just make sure you eat at least once. Or, twice, preferably.
He weighed 2.7kg this morning. That’s good enough.
He just wanted to drink water.
This morning, I also saw vomit in the patio. I don’t know whose it is, though. It contained a few chunks of raw meat (but then, Ginger, Tabs and Heidi also had some raw meat throughout the day), no liver and definitely had a clump of hair. It also had yellow bile and some funny looking “grains”, which is definitely not anything I’ve given Vincent or anyone, for that matter. I don’t know whose it is, but even if it’s Vincent’s, let’s hope it is just a one-off case of hairball vomit.
Heidi vomits hairball almost on a daily basis but she does this upstairs and it has a distinctive trademark. It isn’t like what I saw this morning.
Anyway, I will note the vomit in Vincent’s records.
Ginger only wanted his dim sum this morning.
Vincent wandered out to the patio. He used to love sitting on this table. We call it “Vincent’s table”.
Meanwhile…
Yesterday’s fight has not been resolved at Bunny’s Place. If you remember, Indy and Bunny made a racket calling for an extra late night snack, husband scolded them and Cow chimed in by charging towards the two noise-makers.
This morning, there was a screaming episode between them again. When I went out to check, I saw Indy up on his hind legs posturing at Cow.
Good grief…when are you boys going to grow up??
You tried to kill me this morning with that awful spray!! I’m never going to trust you again…ever!!! Ever!!!! Never!!!!
Sobs………!!!!
