The Open Air

I woke up at 5am this morning, came down the stairs and could not find Vincent.
Ever since Ginger spends the night on our sofa (since he was declared “sick” by the vet for his Zurik-inflicted paw wounds), we have had to leave a gap to enable Ginger to go out to the patio at night. Ginger cannot use the litter box because he is a bit too big. We have many places for the cats to pee and poo out in the patio. There’s also Tiger’s old sandpit there.
I looked all over the house and finally found Vincent here….
There you are, Vincent!
But it’s SO cold, why are you out there??
Vincent: I’m a soldier, remember?
Vincent has the entire house but he chose to go out there. But this spot used to be one of his favourite spots. His carrier is also out in the patio and he used to go in there to sleep for hours too, but he chose to be in the open air.
Cats know what they want. And it’s not like he has no other options. The whole house is his. So I let him be. He seems happy.
Another observation I forgot to mention yesterday is that I think it’s been two days that there has not been any bleeding from the nose. He still sneezes, but the frequency has gone down too. I hope and pray that the antibiotics and Vetri DMG are working and maybe, the Biosilver is too. I’ve been dropping Biosilver into his nostrils (after consultation with a vet who recommends the use of this product).
It’s not easy to have failed kidneys, painful mouth ulcers, no appetite AND chronic nose bleed. Any lesser being (read: human) wouldn’t have been able to cope as well and equanimously as our soldier.
Pole’s sneezing has decreased too. She is eating reasonably well.
Some of the cats are sneezing too. It must be the cold weather and the rain. Vetri DMG to the rescue!
We shall attempt a home subcut this morning and hope it is successful. Yesterday’s clinic subcut was a great success and after that, Vincent had three great meals.
The plan is to do subcut every day for three days, starting today.
Hydration is Vincent’s No.1 priority now. Eating is second.
