Morning Has Broken (3 Pilling Sessions) And About The Biosilver

I’ll say we are off to a pretty good start as far as pilling is concerned.
Pole ate well today too!
I gave her Monge and Cubgrub to see which she’d like. Of course I was hoping she would eat Cubgrub again. Once any of our cats eat Cubgrub, my worries are over regarding balancing their diet. Cubgrub is nutritionally balanced and made with the highest hygiene standards.
Pole ate both! She finished all and asked for more too! For the last few days, she had been refusing Cubgrub and I wondered why. It has been her staple food for so long…
This morning, Pole even ate some home-cooked food! I was so pleasantly surprised. She has never touched my home-cooked food before!!
Maybe she feels much better now and since she hadn’t eaten much in the past week, it’s “anything goes”. I’m glad we stopped the Prednisolone as it can damage the stomach lining. Imagine if we had stuck to the plan of going on it TWO weeks?
I gave her extra Cubgrub and she finished that too!!
So, yay! If everything goes back to normal, the senior vet is right. All she needs now is to continue with the Baytril. She doesn’t need the Prednisolone. We are still on Plan C.
Pole was “easily” pilled this morning. It was just the one-quarter of Baytril. She did not spit it out. She was actually and surprisingly very well-behaved. Yay!! Maybe she is getting used to it by now…hopefully. Or maybe, she knows the pilling does her some good.
Vincent, however, didn’t want to eat.
He just wanted to drink water.
And enjoy the morning air at the patio.
I let him be, because he had eaten so much yesterday. I did offer two slices of chicken and a slice of liver – he didn’t want them. Indy ate them up.
Ginger – the darling of the three patients. He ate home-cooked and Cubgrub. Pilled, applied iodine and done.
Just for half an hour, Ginger. Until the iodine is all absorbed.
Since Ginger has to live indoors now, he wants more privileges. This morning, he came and slept with me on the bed. Last night, he was in our bedroom too. Now, he wants a PR status in Bunny’s Room.
Indy is okay – he doesn’t fight. He only defends himself when attacked (always by Cow).
Oh, and I must share this. On hindsight, the senior vet did ask me regarding Pole: What did you do from then until today? It looks like whatever you were doing has worked. She doesn’t need anything now (no need extraction).
Now I remember there was something I did. I syringed in the Biosilver. I also did that for Vincent. Could that be why Vincent’s ulcers are less red. Maybe, just maybe, it’s the Biosilver?? I’m planning to use that daily now!
Maybe for Vincent, the Baytril isn’t as effective as the Clavomox. So more ulcers have appeared. But the Biosilver has helped to reduce the inflammation and the ulcers are less red?
It’s worth a try… Will carry on with the Biosilver for Pole and Vincent. In fact, for Indy, Cow and the others too. Cow has had a rotten tooth for a long time (senior vet says it’s not warranted to put him under GA just to remove the tooth since it’s not bothering him). Indy has gum problems. Ginger has chronic gingivitis and bad breath. Heidi had had breath before but seems okay now.
Looks like all my aging cats can benefit from the Biosilver spray. I don’t spray, though. I pour out and use the syringe.
Could this be the miracle spray? Let’s try!
The morning pilling sessions consist of the following. I use the Vetri DMG syringe to “wash down” the tablets and I finish off with the Biosilver syringe at the sides of the mouth (they don’t mind it at all).
Vincent:
Clavomox – 1 tablet
Baytril – quarter tablet (just to finish off – also good to give two antibiotics for his case, if pilling is doable)
Azodyl – 1 capsule (a bit of a struggle)
Vetri DMG (by syringe)
Biosilver (by syringe)
Pole:
Baytril – quarter tablet
Vetri DMG (by syringe)
Biosilver (by syringe)
Ginger:
Clavamox – 1.5 tablets
Vetri DMG (by syringe)
Wound cleaning and application of povidone iodine
I’m planning to do the Biosilver for all the cats. Maybe once a week or so.
Today’s pilling session was a huge success. Vincent has officially dethroned Pole now, he’s back to being the No. 1 most difficult cat to pill.
After pilling the cats, it’s time to attend to my own wounds. Currently, I have two Pole-inflicted scratch wounds (from the first day of struggle).
This is all swollen around the puncture wound. It’s hard and very painful.
This is also swollen and very itchy yesterday.
I’m using Fucidin, an antibiotic cream. It’s effective.
