We were alerted to Cilantro’s unbearable suffering by the kind lady who found him. Cilantro had sustained shocking injuries to one of his legs and was in a world of pain. But this beautiful little boy had nobody to help him. As a street cat of Thailand, he was all alone in the world. Cats like Cilantro only have one hope – you. He may have been attacked by a dog, his injury may have been deliberately inflicted by a human, or it may have been caused by some terrible trauma such as a car accident. The wound on his leg was open right down to the bone and infested with maggots. Little Cilantro is currently unable to use this leg at all. He was also severely dehydrated and anaemic on arrival. Thanks to the members of our Care for Cats Club, he is now in the care of our vets.Cilantro has a long journey to recovery ahead but he is still one of the lucky ones. Established in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, Soi Dog is Southeast Asia's largest organisation helping stray animals. The Gill Dalley sanctuary in Phuket is home to over 1,600 animals.
