IGUANA AWARENESS DAY

Green iguanas, native to Central and South America, are traded worldwide for the exotic pet trade. Like all wild animals, iguanas have complex needs that are often not met in captivity.

Tipsy was unable to climb or grip when she was rescued, possibly because she was kept in an environment with no stimulation. She now climbs about her enclosure with interest and curiosity in our wildlife rescue centre dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of animals rescued from the illegal wildlife trade, as well as injured native wildlife.
