CALLING FOR HELP – RESIDENTS AT JURONG EAST
Jumpkin the lone long-tailed macaque is on the move!
Jumpkin has been sighted often around blocks 223 & 229 Jurong East, Singapore Jurong East St 21. Some residents have been seen feeding Jumpkin by throwing fruits from units, or approaching the monkey too close to take photographs. These can result in conflict situations and complaints asking for removal of the monkey.
Can you help Jumpkin? We need Jumpkin to pass the area safely to find a new family. Macaques often do that as part of the natural process of moving from one troop to another.
Three golden rules to help Jumpkin:
- PLEASE DON’T FEED
- APPRECIATE FROM A DISTANCE – DON’T APPROACH OR TRY TO INTERACT WITH THE MONKEY
- DON’T PANIC OR MAKE SUDDEN MOVEMENTS
A big thank you to those sharing/tagging your friends living in Jurong East!
