Indy And The Pill Popper (Day 2)
Today is Day 2 of Indy’s mouth ulcers treatment.
It took some coaxing to get him to eat his breakfast of Primal (rehydrated with water). The vet said this is expected as he hasn’t been using his mouth for many hours through the night, so some pain is expected in the morning.
After the wet Primal, he wanted kibble, so kibble it is.
Cow and Bunny are wondering why they don’t get extra food.
Then, came the pill popping session.
I was anxious as Indy is not easy to pill.
I prepared the pill popper and a syringe of water. Then, my husband held Indy and I did the popping.
Pop!
Success!!
I quickly syringed some water into his mouth. This is supposed to help with the swallowing.
(Thank you, Juliana Ng and our vets! Your tips worked!).
What a relief! And thank goodness we only have to do this once a day.
The half tablet is quite big, actually, so to use the finger would have been very tricky. Furthermore, we might touch the ulcers and it would have been quite disastrous (as was what happened at the clinic yesterday during the first (finger) attempt).
Cleo has been kind enough to let Indy share her sofa without “rental”.
And Tabs wanted to keep Indy company.
