Sharing Session With NREB

WWF-Malaysia Sarawak Conservation Programme’s Freshwater Management and Water Security held a sharing session at the Natural Resource and Environmental Board’s (NREB) office on July 2.

The session covered a sharing of knowledge from two experts, Dr Hannah Baleta, Acting Freshwater Manager from WWF-Myanmar, and Professor Dr Christopher Gibbins from The University of Nottingham.

It also included a sharing of WWF-Malaysia’s work on Irrawaddy dolphin surveys in Rajang-Belawai-Paloh delta and watershed management in Baleh by our Manager for Freshwater Management and Water Security, Belinda Lip.

It is hoped that the session provided some insights on how different agencies can come together to better conserve and manage rivers in the state, along with wildlife, indigenous fish and communities that depend on the waterways.
