Throwback Thursday! Come with us for a little trip down memory lane with a dog named Hero. We hope his story will show you the power you have to change the world for a suffering animal. We first heard about Hero when a local lady contacted us. She had found Hero lying in a corner behind a building. He had been brutally stabbed in several places. He was bleeding profusely and had crawled into the corner to die.Hero is a symbol of all the street dogs that urgently need your support. Will you please go to https://bit.ly/Donate_For_Street_Dogs to help them? When Hero arrived at our shelter, his legs were so badly swollen that the vets struggled to take a blood sample. His knife wounds were infested with maggots and he had septicaemia. Hero was at death’s door and the vets feared he was not going to make it. But despite the severity of his injuries, Hero was starving. He wolfed down a whole can of dog food in seconds and we realised then that this brave little boy was going to fight for his life.In addition to his knife injuries and the resulting septicaemia, Hero was diagnosed with blood parasites and mange, but needed to finish his septicaemia treatment before being given any other medication.People like you play a vital role in the rescue and recovery of dogs like Hero. They simply won’t make it without you. Please go to https://bit.ly/Donate_For_Street_Dogs to save hundreds of Heroes every year, with just a few dollars a week. As time passed, Hero’s transformation was gradual but steady. His knife wounds were treated daily and slowly started to heal. His fur began to grow back and he was given regular body scrubs for an hour and a half at a time, to remove dead skin and matted fur.Hero continued to eat well and started to put on weight. His regained strength meant he could be started on medication for his blood parasites and mange. The light came back in his eyes.Hero got a second chance at life and his rescue alone makes him one of the lucky ones. However, his story doesn’t end there. This brave little boy captured the heart of a woman named Sissy in the US. Sissy got in touch and told us she wanted to provide Hero with his forever home.It is now over four years since Hero left the Soi Dog shelter and flew to his new home in America. We’ll admit that we cried. Hero’s new life in the US is a world away from that dark corner he crawled into to die, but it was only made possible because of people like you. With just a few dollars a week, YOU can achieve miracles for so many more. Please go to https://bit.ly/Donate_For_Street_Dogs to help suffering stray animals that have nobody else to turn to. Thank you.
