In the 1930s, years of over-cultivation and poor land management in the US Northern Great Plains saw farmland and soil literally blown away in the winds during a drought.
Fertile lands turned into desert. Today a substantial amount of global farm land is underperforming or unused – we must rehabilitate it to avoid a repeat and to absorb demand for new lands, thus reducing the pressure on native habitats and vegetation #2018WDCD
