Remember little Pixie? She (or he?) is someone's cat and Wii brought her home shortly after Vixey passed away. Pixie and Vixey look almost alike, ie. both are jet-black. But my colony (meaning Cow & Bunny) refused to play host to Pixie (name given by me), so she wasn't welcomed by them. I used to feed Pixie in the back alley.
Well, sometime last week, I heard war cries in the back alley, so I went out to have a look.
This is what I saw in the neighbour's backyard...
I know it looks pretty peaceful, right?
But the war cries were quite an earful! It is Pixie. I recognise the tail.
Since then, Tiger has been keeping vigilant at the backyard. He even went out to the back alley one night to defend the space and chase Pixie off. Cat politics, we cannot interfere.
Indy was caught in a cold war with Pixie at the front of the house.
Indy back from the "war'. I'm not sure who won, though....
Cleo takes over...
Bunny shares the sentry duty at the back with Tiger....
....while Tiger takes a rest.
And why aren't you involved, Cow?
Oh, I'm taking a rest this time.
And what about Pole?
Pole has been....repairing cars?? I don't know, but she's been coming back all greasy for a few days. No worries, though, she is clean now.
Mr Squirrel and friend come several times a day to eat.
They have been messing up the kitchen slab, leaving a lot of kibble crumbles for me to clean up every afternoon and also pee-ing and poo-ing in my kitchen, so I'm "training" them to eat in the backyard, if I can, that is. Here, they mess up all the plastic containers and pails! Two tiny fellows they are....ha ha.
Bobby already messes up the whole house every day because he is blind and he cannot find his way to the toilet anymore. So, he does it everywhere - pee and poo. Yesterday, it rained in the morning and Bobby was out playing in the garden! There he was, frolicking in the rain. I had to take an umbrella out and follow him around until I could convince him to come back home. He's a stubborn fellow. He does what he wants.
I'm wondering who could help me groom Bobby. He's so stubborn, he refuses to let us groom him now. The last time, he hyperventilated at the groomer's (who is my friend). She got so worried, she quickly brought him back to me. She was afraid Bobby might get a heart attack. I think it's more of a case of separation anxiety. Bobby gets all stressed when I'm not around. Can't blame him, really. He cannot see, and he cannot smell or hear very well.
One of my back neighbours have built a sort of back balcony and is now keeping some cats. They are quite exotic-looking and they like to walk on the ledge of the animal-hating neighbour's house. Yes, the animal-hater has been on a shouting spree lately...again.
I think there are at least 5 cats or more...all pretty young ones.
So, Bunny's been on the alert and has been chasing one off from our backyard.
Yes, there is activity in my backyard again...
