HOMELESS WOMAN WITH CANCER PLEADS

“Please Save My Little Dog!”

This is Ivy,” Romanian rescue coordinator Debbie Evans explains of the beautiful little dog shown here. “She was cared for on the street by an elderly homeless lady named Mandache who asked our rescuer to help this little dog as Mandache was ill with cancer and had to enter a clinic to begin treatments.”

Anyone who has ever suffered from cancer or helped a loved-one through the ordeal understands the physical and emotional marathon that takes place. But knowing that her dog will finally sleep indoors in a warm home has given Mandache the peace of mind to focus on her own healing.

“We promised to help Ivy and find her a wonderful home,” Debbie explained. ” We also helped Mandache (shown here) to pay for some much needed medicines.”

Ivy was driven back to Germany in a van volunteers were using to deliver a shipment of dog food and other supplies. She was the perfect passenger on that road trip and Ivy is now pampered.

“Her fur was too matted to save, but she is a diamond,” Debbie explains. “She’s loving, friendly and playful! She has a forever home offer and will soon be loved forever.”

Ivy is one of many, many dogs we helped sponsor in Romania this past winter. We continue to rescue from the streets and neglectful pounds and to provide food for shelters throughout the Balkans and many other regions of the world.
