“I came here initially not for the tigers, but because I had the longing to work for a cause that was greater than myself – the conservation of our planet.
Every time I witnessed destruction happen in front of my eyes, I felt helpless and frustrated all at once. Conserving tigers means that we are working to protect an apex predator.
This also means we can save much more than just tigers in the long run, as apex predators play a key role in sustaining the balance of an ecosystem.
I sincerely believe that our vision to increase Malaysia’s tiger population, with the efforts from the current tiger conservation team and the Malaysian public, will materialise in the near future.”– Mohamad Farhan bin Mohd Zaid, Wildlife Monitoring Officer.
