From Dawn: Sugar & Lumie (the orphaned kitten)
After Sugar was discharged on 24Oct11, we picked up her and brought her to Dianne (her adopter). In addition to her fierce and bad-tempered nature, she was exceptionally aggressive the first night, chasing Lumie, biting her owners and acting hysterical like a possessed cat. Her adopters contacted me the nxt morning, terrified and not happy about it. They agreed to give Sugar a bit more time to settle and calm down from the medication and changes in environment. For the entire week, my heart skipped a beat everytime I saw Dianne's message or call, preparing for the worst in the event they decided to let Sugar go. I visited them again a week later, and Sugar had settled down comfortably...phew!
Both will begin their 3-vaccination course soon under myanimalcare's subsidiary. I've also attached Sugar's hospitalization bill in this email and will post the original to you soon. The vet was very kind to sponsor all the medication since this was a rescue case.
Flat strays Unfortunately, the girl decided to abort the project without informing me. I do not know the real story behind it. Eventho this plan did not go thru, I hope the earlier posting would have some encouraging effect on your readers.
Yes, I'm sure it would. Sometimes we need to give people time for the idea to sink in. Let's hope the girl will turn around and do the needful. After all, we are all ready to subsidise the spay-neuter programme. All is not lost, though, the idea may have been taken up by someone else and is carried out elsewhere.
At such times, it may help to remember these four principles of Indian spirituality:
1. Whomsoever you encounter is the right person. 2. Whatever happened is the only thing that could have happened. 3. Each moment in which something begins is the right moment. 4. Whatever is over, is over.
And with these profound words of wisdom, let's get on with our lives and do what we think is right!
