In China, while the Yulin dog meat festival attracts worldwide criticism each year, the reality is that millions of dogs are slaughtered in the country all year round.
In South Korea, dogs are commercially farmed for their meat and the conditions are horrendous. And in other Asian countries such as Vietnam, dogs, many of them pets, are snatched from the street before being tortured and slaughtered.
