Together, we raised RM6500 this round (topped up with our share from our Food Fund) and this enables us to purchase 100 bags of dogfood at the offer price of RM65 per 20kg pack.
We also thank Linda Lim for her donation to Meiji for her personal use.
I will put in the order today, and once the supply arrives, Jeen Lim has offered to transport the dogfood to Meiji this round.
Many thanks to all who have helped in all ways.
Meiji expresses her most grateful thanks to everyone.
Meiji single-handedly looks after 128 dogs in her sanctuary up on the hills in Raub. She has been doing this for the last 14 years, with no electricity supply. Her water supply comes from the mountain stream.
Her dogs are 100% spayed-neutered and given the best possible medical treatment when they are sick. Meiji drives them down to the vets at UPM and Ampang for treatment. The spay-neuter is done at Klinik Kembiri and we have been sponsoring the costs for the last two years, inclusive of several medical treatment for her dogs as well.
There are no proper roads up to her sanctuary, so accessibility is only by four-wheel drive vehicles.
Meiji needs about 900kg of dogfood per month to sustain her 128 dogs. She taps rubber as a source of income, but this is often insufficient, especially during the rainy season.
If one wants to know how her dogs are faring at her sanctuary and how well she treats them, one only needs to take a look at her dogs. For me, personally, these are the happiest (and most well-fed!) dogs I have ever seen all my life, in any sanctuary or shelter.
The welcoming entourage that greets every visitor to the sanctuary.
Her dogs roam freely up on the hills and are incredibly happy and friendly. They are very strong and stout as well!
Thank you, for helping Meiji and her dogs.
