STUDENTS FOR A COMMUNITY INITIATIVE

Between May to August 2017, three teams, Project Wild Care, Project Native and Team Project #100AcreLove) successfully pitched their ideas and participated in the Citi-YMCA Youth For Causes (YFC) programme.

We are extremely pleased to share that Project WildCare received the 2017 YFC Merit Award – a tremendous recognition for their efforts!

This also marks the team’s second-time running as an awardee where their seniors previously won the ‘Most Innovative Team’.

These student leaders from three different groups recruited more than 500 volunteers from their school to fundraise for ACRES and, most importantly, spread awareness against animal cruelty. Activities like street sales, concerts and carnival were held at public areas, raising an astounding $15,963.99 for the animals!

So here’s to all students- be inspired and make a difference not just for animals, but for yourselves! If you are between age 15 to 25 and are interested to join this programme to work towards a bigger movement in ending animal cruelty, please email Edwina at edwina@acres.org.sg for more information.
