NEW WINTER HOUSES

FOR CAGE-FREE DOG SANCTUARY

All year long, Harmony Fund sponsors food and care for hundreds of dogs at this amazing free-running dog sanctuary in Serbia. It’s run by a man named Sasha Pesic who started with nothing more than a dream to rescue a few animals.

Recently, Belgian volunteers from a group called Dog Happiness BE traveled to Serbia to construct some additional winter houses for the dogs.

“We were working in Sasha’s shelter, where we built 25 doghouses with a total of 75 sleeping places with isolated roofs,” Ingrid Martens explains. “And we applied thick rubber mats like used in horse stables,. The last day of our work, a truckload of straw arrived just in time.”

While winter preparedness is crucial at this time, our ongoing efforts include food, workers, utilities and veterinary care for the dogs. This is a monumental responsibility each month, and it is largely sponsored by our amazing monthly donors and the wonderful rescuers in Belgium.

At present, we only have sponsors to cover the costs of about half the dogs here. If you would like to enroll in our monthly giving program, your donation could help provide a tremendous number of meals to the dogs here who count on us all year long. It costs about $15 a month for the care of each dog here.
