Education: What Students Did

Ribuan Terima Kasih to a group of students from PPD1014 (Semester 1 2017/2018) of Faculty of Economics & Business, Unimas!

The students were required to fulfil the studies in SoftSkill course and volunteerism is part of their course. Under the Faculty of Economics and Business, spearheaded by Dr Shafinah, the students decided to help SSPCA in many ways.

The students did several of activities during their short period of time. They organised exhibition, garnered some donations through face painting, thumb painting, henna hand painting, and selling their pre-loved novels and self-made items. They also made some games to help in raising funds as well as collecting non-monetary donations. They also held an awareness talk in their campus, creating awareness on the existence of animals within their educational campus and animal abandonment.

Despite a short time of period, they carried out their efforts with the utmost dedication and determination to do their best. They managed to raise RM1,046 for SSPCA. Well done, Unimasians!

The Sarawak Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals believes that animals, as living creatures, have value beyond economic measurement, and are entitled to legal, moral and ethical consideration and protection. The Sarawak SPCA's mission is to act as an advocate on behalf of animals and as an enforcer of their rights; to provide for the well-being of the animals of the State of Sarawak who are abandoned, injured, subjected to unfair or cruel treatment, or otherwise in need; to cultivate in the people of our community an awareness of the animals whose world we share; to promote a bond of mutual assistance between people and animals; and to instill respect for and appreciation of all living things.
