Our Whispers

14th November 2017

Dogs and cats abandonment issues have become more prevalent in our society. This has been a problem for quite some time as seen by the overcrowded animal shelter. Every day of the week people abandon their dogs at the animal shelters, their foreclosed home, pet-shops and on the side of the roads.

It just happened at one of the pet shops in Kuching today, as one of our volunteers was to get some dogs supplies. A puppy was left at the shop-front. Our volunteer brought to the veterinary to have the puppy diagnosed as our volunteer thought it was pretty unusual for the puppy to have a bulging stomach on the right.

From the vets diagnosis, the puppy could have run over on his stomach, which caused his internal organs to move towards to his upper body, and could only live on non-solid food and drips. The puppy suffers bad skin disease; mange. Vet also added that the puppy may not be able to survive for long due to his severe conditions internally.

On hearing that, our volunteer decided to bring the puppy back and try her best give the puppy his last few days.

We strongly plead the public to DESEX your pet to avoid getting unnecessary litters. You may able to rehome the litters, but the adopter may not be bothered to rehome them in the future. Please spread the word to encourage everyone to desex their pets; male or female.
