Say cheese for trees! WWF-Malaysia CEO, Dato’ Dr Dionysius Sharma with fellow Pandas and members of the judiciary at the 1 Heart 1 Tree recognition ceremony organised by the Kota Kinabalu Court Working Group for Environment (KKCWGE) earlier this morning.
KKCWGE’s 1 Heart 1 Tree 2017 campaign aims to achieve one million of trees planted in Sabah and today has included the 20,990 trees that WWF-Malaysia has commited to plant in Bukit Piton Forest Reserve. The planting of the 150 hectare plot has started this ?month and it is expected to be completed in early 2018. This project is a collaboration between Sabah Forestry Department, WWF-Malaysia and WWF-Singapore, with funds from Binjaitree, Holywell Foundation, The Silent Foundation, and Foord Asset Management Singapore. Bukit Piton is one of the most important Bornean orangutan habitats in Sabah.
As of today, the 1 Heart 1 Tree campaign has 43,084 trees left to plant by end of this year, so let’s support KKCWGE and plant more trees!
