ROMANIA WINTER VICTORY & FOOD DRIVE!

We want to offer a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you who helped us over the last few days in our mission to bring winter shelter to the dogs at the Targu Neamt municipal pound in Romania. We have begun building wooden ‘shields’ to keep snow and wind from blasting through the kennels this winter. And we’re building wooden shelters to go inside each kennel. We’ll pack those with lots and lots of straw.

There are SO MANY REFORMS that need to be made here. Conditions are dreadful. This is not uncommon for a government-run dog pound in this region. But we are taking things one step at a time and hoping to create substantial improvements in the welfare of the dogs, so that a year from now, perhaps the pound will be a whole new place offering a far better quality of life for the dogs.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in Romania we continue to provide food for dogs and cats at underdog rescue centers. Through our food drive, we’ll be providing meals to over 1,000 dogs and cats in Romania alone and some 71,000+ meals to animals everywhere.

We still have another 1/3 to go in our FOOD DRIVE. We need another $5,315 to be able to provide food to all the rescue squads and street-feeding volunteers who are counting on us.
