International Conference On The Heart Of Borneo (HoB) 2017

The Heart of Borneo Initiative’s International Conference held today in Kota Kinabalu covered various issues such as trans-boundary protected area management, institutional arrangements, biodiversity conservation, green ecotourism, research and development and local community involvement.

WWF-Malaysia and the Sabah Wildlife Department signed an MoU on the implementation of the Transboundary Elephant/Orang Utan project. It will focus on maintaining, establishing, or restoring landscape connectivity for animals, plants, and humans by harmonizing competing land uses in the proposed area.

“A Decade of Heart of Borneo Initiative: Accomplishments and the Way Forward” is the theme. It will be held from 24th to 25th October, 2017 at Sutera Harbour in Sabah.
