PROHIBITED SPECIES KEPT IN A FARM

Based on a tip-off received by our ACIU (Animal Crime Investigation Unit), our investigations revealed a farm in Lim Chu Kang housing several turtles of prohibited species, including pig-nosed turtles and pond turtles, who were also housed in sub-optimal conditions. The findings were handed over to the AVA for enforcement action.

We would like to thank the informant for blowing the whistle and also the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) for their enforcement action and confiscating the turtles.

Wild animals belong in the wild, and it is often impossible to meet for their needs in captivity. Please say no to keeping wild animals as pets, and if you see prohibited wildlife illegally sold as pets in Singapore, please call our 24hr wildlife crime hotline 97837782 or email us at acrescrime@gmail.com.
