“Beyond the edge of the world there’s space where emptiness and substance neatly overlap, where past and future form a continous, endless loop. And hovering about, there are signs no one has ever read, chords no one has ever heard.”- Haruki Murakami, “Kafka on the Shore.”
This shore is one at the edge. The tip of Borneo is a majestic landscape located at the most northern part of Borneo. It is within Tun Mustapha Park (TMP).
TMP takes up 1m hectares (2.47m acres) off the northern tip of Sabah. It’s a region that contains the second largest concentration of coral reefs in Malaysia as well as important habitats like mangroves, sea grass beds and productive fishing grounds.
We have to preserve it for future generations because the North remembers.
