Her name is Genius. She came to the shelter almost 5 years ago after being found on the streets with a severely injured back leg. Sadly, her leg could not be saved.

Genius is one of the dogs in our care whose early life trauma still haunts her. As a result, she is frightened of almost everyone. But there are exceptions. Like May � a long-time Soi Dog staff member.

When Genius arrived at the shelter, May began visiting her every chance she got. Genius grew to trust May, allowing her to stroke and cuddle her � she even let May pick her up. Genius has made great progress recently thanks to loving people like May who have dedicated long, patient hours to building trust with her.

Soi Dog Foundation

Established in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, Soi Dog is Southeast Asia's largest organisation helping stray animals. The Gill Dalley sanctuary in Phuket is home to over 1,600 animals. Soi Dog also has a treatment facility in Bangkok and responds to crisis situations throughout Thailand.
