When I arrived at the Soi Dog’s shelter, in Phuket, Thailand, I was in agony, terrified and weak. No one knows what happened to me but the vets here gave me the treatment I so desperately needed and stopped the pain caused by my severely injured leg. Sadly, my leg could not be saved and it had to be amputated.

My name is Polaris and this is my story.

For most of my life I lived alone on the streets of Phuket, with nobody to love me. I have never had a home, regular food or clean water. I am safe at the shelter but I long for a warm home of my own, where I am given all the love I deserve.

In my life so far I have already been through so much! But that doesn�t stop me from being super adorable, super cute and super affectionate! I love it when the volunteers visit me. We relax and chill out in my enclosure, enjoying cuddles and belly rubs. Their kind gentle hand makes me wonder what it would really be like to have an owner all of my own�.

I am a purebred Thai Bangkaew. The Thai Bangkaew Dog is an intelligent breed that is primarily known after its incredible loyalty and protective nature. This dog is very brave, fearless, hardy, resourceful, clever, determined, and more than eager to please his master. However, at the core this is a breed with lots of primitive and wild traits, which means that you will have to dedicate a lot of time to your Bangkaew in order to properly socialize him.

That means I will need a very experienced owner, with lots of time to spend with me and who would be willing to train me. I am looking for a home with only adults and no other pets.

I�ve heard about comfy sofas to lay on, dog parks to play in, and beds to sleep on. I dream of having my own toys and I quite like the sound of all of that stuff that comes with living in a home, especially the part about having a human to love!
