Tigers Abscesses (Day 4) And Vincents Monastic Lifestyle
Tweet |
Yesterday morning, I was really happy when I saw that Tiger’s wounds had dried up. That was first thing in the morning.
But before I could take a photo, I guess Tiger bit his wounds and one of them started bleeding again. My guess is, perhaps when it is dried up, it itches, so we can’t blame a cat for wanting to address an itch.
A setback. But a small one, thankfully.
I did the flushing twice yesterday and by evening, the wounds looked okay.
I’m trying not to put the e-collar on him as that is stressful, so we only use the e-collar when absolutely necessary.
This morning, the wounds looked better. The soft masses at the side are still there, though.
Yesterday, Day 3.
Today, Day 4.
I use a box as a table for Tiger. It helps as he doesn’t have to bend down too low to eat.
Heidi eats ON the kitchen island.
Vincent has recently adopted a rather “monastic” lifestyle as far as eating is concerned. He would only eat one meal per day. So, his breakfast is VERY heavy. Then, he retreats into the carrier outside at the patio and stays there hibernating (or, meditating?) the whole day. He doesn’t want dinner.
Initially I was really worried that his stomatitis has returned. As you know, there is no cure for stomatitis; it’s all about management. But the fact that he still eats a heavy breakfast is indication that he can still eat.
He just doesn’t want dinner.
In the photo above, he is cleaning up everyone’s bowls at breakfast today.
